#17: BE YOU! THE WORLD WILL ADJUST!

There is nothing in our society or probably our upbringing that invited us to honor and be our true selves. “Be more like your sister,” or “A (family name) never …….” or “That’s silly, you don’t need to be afraid,” or “Boys don’t cry, man-up!”
The unimaginable gift each of us has been given is that you are the only you that will ever be! More valuable than any antique, as an original you are priceless. It is futile to try to be like someone else—and robs them of their originality. Love you for you, and don’t worry about the people who can’t see you—that’s not about you, it’s about them! Honor the gift and just be you!
I have found that saying, “That won’t work for me,” is a tool I can use when someone wants me to do/be something I don’t want to do/be. When someone is asking my counsel on how to stop someone else from doing something or being something I say, “Best to stay in your own lane. You’re in their lane. Get back into your lane.”
You have been given one lane to swim in the seas of life; own your own lane and invite other people to stay in their lane. Be You! Everyone else is taken!
